I have been looking forward to the moment that I would get to blog about this next adoption milestone...... we have completed our dossier! Some of you may be wondering, what in the world is a dossier? I had no idea what one was either before this process began for us. Let me give you the basic rundown.... Basically the dossier, is a TON of paperwork, that acts as a profile for your family. Photo pages, background checks, application letter, references, home study, birth certificates, etc, etc, etc.... Our families dossier is exactly 50 pages in length! Which may not seem like a lot, but let me tell you, it is! It's not just the pages themselves, it's the precision in which each page must be executed that makes you want to pull your hair out! Notarize this, make sure each date matches exactly, any mistakes must be initialed and dated..... and the list goes on and on. I started our dossier in August of 2012 and just completed it yesterday.
