Ever since my previous launch of our adoption blog, our lives have been in full speed motion! It's been hard to keep up with all that God is doing in our lives right now..... let me get you up to speed.
God decided that when he was going to speak to us, He was going to get a lot done in one shot! A "Bodie and Rachel overhaul!" So, along with the news that we are to adopt a baby from Africa, we also recieved the call to sell our house and move to Glenpool. This being the house that we had just built & moved into one month prior! Barely had time to unpack the boxes before we put the FOR SALE sign up... the Lord has a sense of humor:) The house was on the market for one week before it sold, I know, that is insane! So, then we had to begin the mad search for the house we were to move into, cause being homeless wasn't the best option. Warning! "House hunting may cause near fist fights with your spouse, if you don't take moments of silence and deep breathing" But alas, we settled on a place that we now both love and are very excited to be able move into our new place within the next few weeks!
Bodie and I cannot wait to begin our lives in, what we beleive to be our mission feild, Glenpool OK. You see, we are already the youth pastors at the amazing Landing Community Church in Glenpool (shameless plug), so we have a church family and a ministry already there. But this move and this calling that we feel for this city, we feel, is bigger than we can imagine (not to be too over-dramatic).
So, first on the Interrupted list.... Moving!
Next..... well as I mentioned earlier we are the youth pastors at The Landing. Our heart beats for these students and this ministry, we absolutly LOVE what we do. And it has been a dream of ours for a long time to remodel the youth room that we meet in. Well, as timing works, in the middle of the Lord uprooting and changing our lives, we are remodeling our youth room.
We actually titled a series for the youth entitled "Under Construction" for while the youth stage and room was being done. Little did we know that it was not only the youth room that was going to be gutted, but our lives as well!
Second on the Interrupted list.... V youth ministries Construction!
Whew! So, with all that said, you can see why we have been interrupted. But, we are officially starting back on the journey.
We have received our next steps concerning getting our new baby (which includes: paperwork, money, paperwork, paperwork, more money, and oh yes more paperwork and money!)
We don't know much about the adoption process, we are learning as we go, but one thing we know for sure.... we cant do it alone. The total cost for us to bring this baby home to us will be around $30,000 (yes, I know, you can pick your jaw up off the floor now). It's truely a leap of faith for us to step out in this because the Lord is going to have to provide in order for this to happen.
With that being said, we are going to be setting up a few different ways in the coming months for you to be able to join with us finanically. So, what is the first way you ask?
We have partnered with Adoption Bug and Show Hope, two awesome organizations who help assist adoptive families with the fundraising needed, and they have set up a website for you to go and order t-shirts from our page. We have chosen these shirts and there is a picture of our family and a short bio of us and what we are doing. Each shirt purchased from our website, we get a commision off of. Half of what you pay for your shirt will go directly to us and our adoption fund! Amazing huh? Our prayer is that this website will be shared with you, then you share it with your friends and family, then they pass it on, and on and on (you get the idea). We pray that this stretches way past what we could ever do on our own.

We are so excited to get this going again, and we will keep you posted every step of the way!
with love,
Rachel:)
